10,000 Hours is holding auditions for its next round of teams on SATURDAY, JANUARY 7th.
Auditions are open to all levels, however it is not a decision to be entered into lightly.
This is a 6 month commitment. Once you are placed on a team, you will be expected to:
Be available to host the Sunday 10K Jam Jam or perform in the Sunday show on a rotating basis (The 10K Jam is at 5:30pm and Show is at 6:30pm). Make your team a priority and rehearse with your team once a week, under the direction of a coach. Players should also make every effort to “play well with others” (on and off stage). As a part of the team it is also important to be able to take notes and communicate within your team and to me, as the Co-Director, whenever needed.
Remember, teams are made up of people with different levels of advancement from all theaters but complementary strengths and skills. If you prefer not to be on a team with someone that is in a “lower level” than you, please do not apply to audition. Also, being on a 10,000 Hours team does not mean that you will be placed on a Peoples Improv Theater House Team. While the 10K Program is loosely affiliated with The PIT, the PIT House Teams and 10K Teams are NOT CONNECTED.
Go to “Find a Sign Up”
Use the “Search by Email” option and enter the 10K email address: firstname.lastname@example.org
The sign up is working, as we already have had people sign up for audition slots. If you are having trouble, try using a different browser/search engine.
ONE FINAL NOTE: If you are planning on auditioning for a major theater and for a 10K team, and you get placed on both, you are agreeing to make the commitment to both.
See you there.
Michelle F. Thomas
10,000 Hours Co-Director
